firsttigerThe whole family is rather tired today. We got in somewhat late and still had tasks to attend to once we were home. It wasn't late enough that Aaron needed to stay home today, but I suspect he will be yawning a fair bit today.
As for the event itself... oh, my. It got off to a bit of a late start and I was amused to find when Isaiah Sheffer came out on stage, he was very nearly exactly as I had always pictured he would look.:) Neil was clearly nervous, which we all noted later when was talked about it. He spoke quite passionately about his love of stories and listening to him was a delight. Marin Ireland read the first story and she was my favorite performer of the night. She read flawlessly and in a way that was dramatic without being overly so. She engaged with the audience quite nicely in the way she performed.
I was already a Selected Shorts fan and now I am even more so. Pete and I are both going to watch the upcoming readings to find another to go it. The trip in was so easy and the experience was a joy.
