What I find most disconcerting isn't the long lines at stores, the long lines for gas or even that Batteries+ which never has people in it appeared packed when we passed by... it's Sam. He's just so nervous right now and jumps a foot every time you touch him. He's not a nervous cat.
As for the humans, we're about as ready as we're going to get. The only reason we were out this morning was for our usual Saturday breakfast at the diner. We've got plenty of water, the flashlights are all current on their batteries (which is good because you apparently can't get a D battery in northern NJ right now) and we're making up some things that are good for eating cold in case the electricity goes out. The habanero and bhut jolokia plants are currently in the master bathroom in the tub, the porch furniture in the garage... sadly the basil is going to have to stay put because the pot it is in is about 100 pounds when filled so it stays on the back porch. The creek behind the house is likely going to be the biggest problem with amount of rain being predicted.
Lastly, on a completely different tangent, posts of the La Perla chemise I bought myself, because it is ever so pretty.
