 On Friday, I made my second to last student loan payment on Aaron’s plus loans. Second to last because they slow walk big payments as they compound interest daily. We have aggressively paid down a substantial piece while he makes the regular payments. This last big payment was actually 20% of his own savings too. I am so happy that we can put an end to this chapter. All it took was showing Pete that even with our quarterly contributions and Aaron paying more than double regular payments, interest was  between 600-800 a month. This is *after* we paid off two years worth of loans. His minimum payment didn’t even cover interest. Is it any wonder people are paying these for life?

Got into an argument with our neighbor Mary about Charlie Kirk. After a lot of “taken out of context” and “he speaks his truth” morphed into “college radicalizes kids” I told her we clearly were going to disagree and walked away. She hasn’t said a word to me since…to the point when our other neighbor called her over when I was around, Mary would not meet my eye. ::shrug:: I ignored red flags with Mary like her being against vaccines even though she was a nurse. I won’t abide someone excusing hateful rhetoric.  

Finally had my appointment with the gastroenterologist yesterday. She chided me a *touch* about not seeing a doctor at all since about 2018. I explained that male doctors had put me off so much I was reluctant to do checkups as I should. She nodded, told me she understood and that was that. Overall, she thinks I am healthy and my thought of ulcer is likely correct. So now all the testing I need has been set up but I can’t get it done until November simply for the way things are with doctor’s offices any more. 

Zan had me come around with her to look at cats. She is finally ready to adopt after Baldur’s death last year in March. After a lot of agonizing, she chose two lovely grey girls named Spring and Winter. I think Winter will be one of *those* cats, by which I mean a special feline that everyone loves and just lodges themselves in their human’s heart. She was just charming as all heck. Both of us are going to donate for another older pair. She just doesn’t have the bandwidth for them as they are one step off of feral and have taken 3 years to be even a little okay with their current foster home. Darcy had the 1000 yard stare that broke my heart.  

Well I have certainly babbled a bit today. Hope all of those that are still out there reading are weathering the times.::hug::

The amount of people sticking to that "out of context" stuff is amazing. If I had the intestinal fortitude for it, I'd have videos ready to watch with them and say "show me where the appropriate context is that makes it ok" but alas, I don't. I think this is the straw that is going to keep me from going to sit at my almost lifelong friend and neighbor's house on Trick or Treat because I KNOW someone is going to bring it up, probably his neighbor Chris. He tried to start stuff last year by bringing up Trump but we just ignored it and Joe was trying hard to change the subject but this year I don't know if I can just sit there and not speak up. Ah well, it's not like I enjoy the beer drinking anymore, but I was trying hard last year to pretend and intended to do the same this year.

I think it's been since 2018 or very early 2019 since I've seen any sort of MD too. I have no desire for it and now that I've set myself up for some chastising over how long it's been, I dread it even more. Add that to the fact that the only hospital in town is the one I absolutely despise and it's a no-win situation for me. I hope all your tests get done as easily as possible and only generate answers and not more testing as they seem to love doing to us heheheh.

Someone posted a comic on fark where when character was told they didn’t get the context and she responded “fair enough” and went to listen to his podcasts. The last panel was “it’s so much worse with context!” It was all so annoying, especially since I had been explicit about being aware of who CK was for more than 10 years. So I was admittedly extra annoyed to be told by someone who flat out said that she hadn’t known who he was before he died made it clear she trusted propaganda over me.

People who try to bait others with politics are awful. I hope you have a lovely trick or treating night…maybe Chris will get laryngitis.:)

I thought it would be a little easier to get appointments around here. There is a rather big medical school in Albany after all. Haha.
