firsttigerI ended up getting to the house at around 11:30 yesterday. Once I settled the cats in, I popped out for lunch. I had it easier than the fellas. Movers didn’t end up showing up until 3. They packed the truck until 10 and had to come back this morning. My lunatic spouse drove 2 hours and then back again this morning. When I asked him why he didn’t get a room there he told me he’d paid for a room here and didn’t want to be in Bergen County.
There was no way. i was going to make it to midnight on the sleep I’d gotten lately so I ended up being the one to stay on the air mattress. The cats made sure my not sleeping was still a thing. At one point, I woke up to a cat party. I escorted Sam and Jade out but CC hid. I awoke some time later to the grey menace *looming* over me in a rather creepy manner. So out she went. A bit after that, Jade assaulted the door and could not be convinced to stop. Cat claws are painfully loud on hardwood. I ended up letting her in and was rewarded with her flopping next to me purring until I fell asleep at which point she decided she wanted to be under the covers. I will forgive her because she is rather stressed about the change in environment.
Low of the day? Our neighbor using woke as a pejorative. I really hate that.
High? When Zan found out that Pete and Aaron were stuck, she offered to come over so we could have dinner together. I told her I wished I knew the area better for takeout. She lamented food from her part of town would get cold on the drive or she’d bring something. I told her it was okay…I was awake enough to eat a meal out. A little while later she texted me a menu from a place she found near me and offered to bring. I very gratefully accepted and she ended up staying until 10. We both are pretty happy we will now see each other more than twice a year. I think the teen versions of us would have thought our plans of Sunday breakfast followed the Schenectady Farmer’s Market would be boring but this version of me thinks it is amazing. Then again, the teen versions of us also got a ridiculous sugar high from honey roasted peanuts and were fairly easily amused by a rubber Popeye toy included as a gift with purchase with said peanuts.
Truck will be here to unload tomorrow and we go back to clean on Monday. I am gonna collapse next Tuesday.
