Oct. 18th, 2010 07:55 amFriday ended up being a busier day than I thought it would. It started with my convincing Pete to work from home... I may have unfairly convinced him to do so, but he needed a break from the office. It progressed from there to him deciding to take a personal day and I was glad he did. We got a lot done and managed to spend a good amount of time together for the first time in a while. Sometimes, I just need to cheat dreadfully to get him to take his mind off of work.:D
In the process of running errands on Friday, I ended up talking to a girl in Sephora about the trials and tribulations associated with curly hair. I got a lot of good tips out of it and we talked a bit about salons designed for the curly. In the last 15 years I have gotten one good haircut. Mostly, people not knowing how to cut curls tend to butcher my hair so I don't get my hair cut often. In the past 6 years, it's been cut twice... once the good cut in Vegas and the time before that was when my sister treated for her wedding. I cried over that one. Silly, I realize but when you ask someone for a trim and you end up with 8 inches less of hair, it doesn't go over well. Anyway, point here is that the girl in Sephora and I talked about Ouidad and after some encouragement from the spouse, I made an appointment. So, on our anniversary, I have a a haircut with a senior stylist and I'm fairly excited about the prospect.
Saturday was an early day as Aaron had PSATs. We took him to a nice lunch afterwards and spent a leisurely meal together with good food and conversation. Aaron has been dreadfully teenager-y lately but we still manage to get good family time in without him being surly so I'm happy about that. It isn't that he's been horrible, he just prefers to spend time as far away from us as possible on most days.;)
Sunday.... well, let's just say I'm a spoiled woman. Pete has been indulging me a lot lately and when I said as much, he told me that after all of this time of my depriving myself for the sake of others, he thought it was time that changed. It's taking a little used to to realize that yes, I can have things sometimes.:)
