Mar. 4th, 2010 07:06 amI love days when I don't have a specific agenda. It'll be nice to have a little time for myself. Perhaps I can coax myself back into the stitching habit. I do know one of the things I'll be doing for certain is peanut butter bars. Going through school, our cafeteria sold these evil chocolate peanut butter bars that everyone loved. When I reconnected with an old friend/neighbor a while back, I remembered her mom worked in the cafeteria so I asked her if she happened to have the recipe. She did and passed it on. I've made them a few times now and Pete once took them into share. The reaction was overwhelming. The recipe is simple and I'll be sure to post it later.
Can anyone tell me why unexpected expenses always seem to come in groups? No nice even, easier to handle spending; gosh no. It all seems to hit like a ton of bricks when the checking account is at its ebb. It's like the household conspires to make sure that everything happens at once.
Pete's mounting cookie debt at work caused him to ask me to make at least one more batch for the Spring cookies. I am crazy and agreed to it. I got some smaller cutters this year, so that will help. Last year's butterflies were *huge* plus that particular cutter produces cookies prone to breakage. So I'll likely be spending a couple of days on cookies this year but I'm actually looking forward to it. They turned out so beautifully last time and I got tons of great feedback about the decoration. All for a little swirling of royal icing colors with a toothpick.:)
I'm going to go make a little more coffee.
sharkbait says it is good for me.:)
