Feb. 17th, 2010 10:40 amI had actually meant to post after the weekend, but Tuesday ended up being a nose to the grindstone sort of day. I will say that it was yet another wonderful family weekend and I feel absurdly lucky to have those I do in my life. My son great birthday and didn't seem to chafe at being around his parents *too* much.:) Pete and I ended up having such a great time together that our usual post-weekend "miss you" texts as he takes the train is were more frequent *and* he called and left a message (dysfunctional phone never rang) in which the words "I miss you" were uttered no less than 3 times in a 45 second message.:)
I have been insanely busy this last couple of weeks and I've accomplished quite a bit in that time. Also, my move to extend my work out and slow things down have gotten the scale to show that perhaps those last few pounds are possible. One of my friends, after I dragged her out of the house for lunch (she's been hiding from the world again) sent me a lovely note that made me so glad that I decided to do so. All in all, a whole bunch of positives, many of them stemming from my own effort have me feeling pleased with myself.
On a shallow and consumerist note, REI opening up down the road is both a very good and very bad thing. As Pete said, a lot of what they carry in clothing appeals to my hippy chick tendencies. Gotta love a co-op company that caters to lover of the outdoors! Now if only I would stop finding things to buy every time I walk in.
