This weekend ended up being far busier than expected with a bonus exodus of Jon's stuff. The Netshelter cabinet sold and when we found it would be being picked up Sunday, we asked Jon if he was coming by at all. He ended up here Saturday afternoon and he took almost everything that he wasn't selling. We managed to get the bonus room clear of all of his boxes and stacked the older servers in the garage for recycling. Not only that, but we went over a lot of things that need to be done around the place while he took notes and asked us what our priorities were. It seems at long last, Jon has money coming in again and he wants to start taking care of things. He didn't even flinch when it was suggested the windows should be replaced!

Sunday, the fellow that bought the cabinet came by. When he saw the half dozen stripped servers stacked by the door, he asked what was going to be done with them. Turns out he does a good deal of the recycling for the county and offered to haul them away for us. We couldn't turn that down! So now all that is left of Jon's things is a server tower shelf.

Now for the negative part of the weekend... I had commented to Pete that so much seems to be working out lately that I had that nagging worry of "what will go wrong." It just seems that's always the way things go when we have a good spate of up things.  Unfortunately, we found out that a good friend has leukemia. He was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, which is very rapid in growth *but* it seems that it's very treatable. Steph is in good spirits and has a good prognosis so we're very hopeful. Pete is going to see him in the hospital some time this week since he's in a Manhattan hospital fairly near the waterfront so it's a quick train trip in from work.

Bonus gets deposited next Monday. Pete is pushing for an air hockey table since Jon's things are finally out. I'm having a hard time saying no given that it is is hard work that made the bonus possible.

That was the first thing that went through my head when Pete found out what type it was. It sounds like the treatment will be fast given what kind it is, too.
