firsttigerI've been trying to ignore the fact that the antibiotics are making me ravenous. Last night, after we'd eaten I told Pete I felt like I could eat about 10 times as much as I did and his response was "when's dinner?" 6 more days of feeling like I could devour the pantry isn't exactly something I'm looking forward to. I am glad that while the needle on the scale has stopped its very slow downward trend, at least it isn't going *up* because of this.:)
Pete made it back to work yesterday. The first thing his boss said was that he was so very glad to see him. This was followed up with the question "are you sure you're ok? You look a bit glassy-eyed." Both Pete and I are doing a lot better than we were, but find we get super-tired really easily. I know that Pete is incredibly frustrated at this point that he's not back to 100% yet. I think I'm doing a little better than he is, mostly due to the fact I have better habits on exercise.
Due to being ill, we were a bit late getting Sam back for his post-operative checkup. We took him to the vet last night and he's fine. The trip was so short and so uneventful, when we came back and he realized that nothing bad had happened to him, he spent the rest of the evening in an incredibly good mood. He's a congenial cat anyway... my morning routine of coffee and lunch making is alway punctuated by a happy cat following me about and capering in the kitchen. A super happy Sam is almost criminally cute.
Well, I imagine before too long I'll be getting a spate of cupcake feedback. I sent Pete in with 4 dozen mini cupcakes. Last year, I did more variety for him to take in, but this year I just didn't have it in me to bake three different kinds so it's pumpkin or nothing.:) It won't be too much longer that sugar cookie ghosts will be made up.... boy I sure send him in with a lot of sugar this time of year.
