This morning, the fella said that every day he was "dancing inside." It has been a long time since Pete was happy and it is a good change of pace. Every day he has conversations with future colleagues that make him even happier. The outgoing person in his department asked him what he's been doing in the last job and when Pete told him, the response was "you will love it here. It's nothing like all the frustrations you describe." Again, the idea of work home life balance being the norm at this employer. Hard not to get excited.

Once the household is back up and running more normally, I should be able to have some time to stitch again. I am less than 6 lines away from finishing The Starry Night as a beaded piece. Its gotten so heavy at this point and in the light, it looks so beautiful. I am not the biggest Van Gogh fan (Rousseau gal) but I have developed a better appreciation for the piece.

In a very domestic note, I have processed 11 pumpkins over the last couple of days and now have plenty of frozen puree for my winter baking along with the first successful pumpkin seeds I have ever made. The trick was a cast iron saute before it went into the oven rather than the baking sheet method which never works for me.

Off to mill today. Today's wheat is warthog...the closest thing to AP percentage as one gets. Mostly I want to make some chocolate chip cookies with it and a little spelt. Yay cooler weather so I can bake again!
