Wow!

So Pete has been off since Friday and we are taking an anniversary week. Since traveling is still a bit dodgy, we are doing day trips to be evocative of our 30 years married, 32 together. So far, its been lovely to have the time together. The plan was to go somewhere for a whole week(!) since we've never had the ability to do so before. Sometimes money, sometimes work... I don't sweat it too much as traditionally, things come along to wreck the actual day quite often, including jury duty twice.

And other than affording a week in a country other than something in North America, we are starting a house hunt. The place across from us sold for an insane amount of money. After a lot of talking, we know where we want to go and the nice houses there will end up being significantly lower than our current rent in terms of payment. Pete's current employer is still predominantly remote work and is fine with people continuing to do so. Given that people are retiring in droves and his position is more than secure, salary adjustment is minimal to non-existent with negotiation. Every time he goes in, he spends too much time and money doing so and therefore being close to NYC isn't important at this juncture.

Okay, well, I managed an update, yay! Probably going to be it as for the rest of the week we are full of plans and celebrations things.:)
