(no subject)

So yesterday involved taking Pete to the train station and then skipping to NJ to take a gift to a friend and get a Wegmans run in. It was strange to do alone. Just to make sure I got the full experience there was a major accident on 287 that closed the whole north side for a while and I spent some time in the fallout from that. Pete kept half an eye on me while I went, which I'm not at all surprised he did as he was anxious on my behalf.. For some reason, crossing the Tappan Zee had him beaming. The NJ driving went easily but the home stretch through CT gave me a guy in a big black SUV and bad lights deciding to stomp on the gas when I went to switch lanes. Rex and all of its electronics came through for me at that point and it was only an incident that had me peeved rather than injured.

I finished Peonies and Delphiniums on Tuesday and will post a pic at some point. Too much backstitching for my taste but since it is for Zan I persevered. I will be putting a new piece on the bars tomorrow and I'm excited to get it started.

So on this snowy morning, I am sipping coffee that Pete wouldn't like while sitting next to his empty chair. It's been a long time since he's had to travel for work and I haven't missed it. Admittedly, I may have slept better without the CPAP machine about but I'd still rather he were here this morning.
