The fence is going in today! The neighbor that lets her son cut through our yard and lets the dog pee through the old fence ruining our grass seems peevish about it.  She called the town to complain but it’s a fence and we don’t need a permit for it. If she had trained her dog, this never would be a priority to do. But, since she and another neighbor think it’s okay to let their dogs bark all the time here we are. They bark when they are bored and see us through the doors in the family room for crying out loud.

The fence itself looks great. We ended up with a simple cedar with five inch posts. Given the last fence was older than I am, the difference is tremendous. The next step involves moving the hydrangeas to the back of the property against the new fence to get them out of the constant sun of the front. After that, I have nearly 200 tulip bulbs to plant…which is not nearly as many as it sounds.:)

It looks like the RSUs will be good enough in December to get the retaining wall earlier than planned. Since that is the lynchpin to getting the backyard changes, it is good that is the case. We are also taking our charitable donation from that pot and it has been agreed we will give 80% to the local food banks and 20% to the MVSPCA. It’s going to be harder for people who need food this year and helping locally seems far more important at this time.

Lastly, Aaron finally has an interview. Fingers crossed!

When we moved in here there was chain link fencing on the two sides but not across the back. The neighbor told me that someone whose yard ran the length of both of ours had it taken down so he could cut down a fruit tree that had been in the previous owner's yard while the owner was dying of cancer. I knew all of the parties involved and to say I was upset is an understatement but it had been years since it happened and all I could do was immediately replace that bit of fence so our dog at the time could be free in the yard. The kids on the street perpendicular had started cutting through at some point so they weren't happy but they just started using the neighbor's yard instead, oops. Hopefully yours will help with the dog barking issue. Plus, I have to say that it isn't anyone's business if you put up a fence and I'm glad that didn't become an issue. I'm way too old and set in my non-HOA ways to go from "my property is mine and I can do what I want" to "my property has rules and everyone has to be happy with whatever I do" for sure LOL I'm not even sure I could be trusted to live in an apartment anymore!

Good luck to Aaron!!
