Loans are officially paid off. Logged in last night to a paid in full status. Feels pretty good. It means freeing Aaron from a burden and it means the only debt in our names is the house.

Since we are now not helping him pay loans, Pete upped the mortgage payment again. As it is, we were paying our old rental payment which had us paying off the house 11 years earlier. Throw in similar mortgage payment like we have been throwing at the plus loans and the house is paid off in 4-5 years. Given we bought our first house this late in life, that seems like the sensible plan. So between quality of life and money differences, leaving New Jersey really was the best option.

Mary is definitely not speaking to us anymore. I now have another conundrum to add to this. While we were still speaking, she told me she had gotten into poison ivy so I gave her our Zanfel. It…did not help. In fact, the blisters she was experiencing traveled around her body and nothing reacted to the medication. She stomped over yesterday with a replacement tube (she is a very transactional person) and when Pete asked her if she was better, she huffed a not really at him and left. So…this is where I have a moral issue. She told us ages ago that she takes ivermectin “preventatively.” I looked up what happens when you take it and don’t need it and those blisters are likely that. She does not want to talk to me, she does not respect my opinion and I know she will not listen because she is sure she knows better as a former nurse. I genuinely do not know what to do. She is 80 and engaging in a dangerous practice. How do you help someone that doesn’t want it?

Congrats on the loans! That really is a good feeling. Andrew has been paying down his credit card debt that really piled up on him while he was trying to live in Santa Barbara. It would go faster if we really budgeted and he didn't buy LEGO and buy Kpop and concert streams for me etc but we gotta have some fun in life ;)

Nurses like Mary are one reason I do not think I could do the job anymore. I really do not have the patience for that b.s. and definitely not from potential coworkers since it's not only the Boomers doing stupid shit. Add that to parents and grandparents if I had stayed in Peds and there's a pretty much 100% chance I'd have gotten fired LOL The last few nights we were open in April of 2020 we were doing the whole 9 yards of isolation with the few patients we got and I had one family who were simply furious that we were trying to keep them from having more than one person stay with the child and trying to keep them from going in and out of the unit every 30min to smoke. They started pretending to "switch off" and hoped we wouldn't notice that dad came back in while mom was still there etc. and it was so frustrating. If I had realized that was gonna be my last night at work, I probably would have said a big ole fuck you to administration and just let them do whatever they wanted because they were going to do it regardless.

I noticed ivermectin in the human pharmacy at Walmart the last time we went shopping and might have said a little too loudly "wow, they sell horse medicine here?" and luckily, nobody yelled at me and started filming me LOL I was just feeling a little prickly that day heheh
