Nov. 30th, 2017 12:20 pmI passed, I passed, I PASSED. I realize getting one's license shouldn't be that big of a deal, but I'm 45 and never gone beyond the permit stage. It's one of those things that just ends up being a bigger deal as more time goes on. But, I passed despite a once forgotten signal on the k-turn. Everything else was easy. I babbled a bit at the tester, a former cop. Zan thought it would be daunting to have such a person as a tester but he was a nice guy. When I put the car in park, he told me I passed and shook my hand. As he explained the one mistake, he told me that he recognized I was nervous and I had been more than fine. I thanked him and ruefully explained that Pete would be thrilled as this was 20 years overdue.
So yeah, I finally have a license. And while it is a great relief to be done, there is too much going on otherwise for this to be much more than a short-lived victory.

Date: 2017-12-01 03:02 pm (UTC)I'm OK. The biggest thing, physically, is dealing with a different blood pressure than I'm used to. It's not as bad as first, but I can still get dizzy at times. Mostly during Aikido practice. All that falling and rolling can get to me if I don't pace myself properly.
