Mar. 6th, 2010 12:20 pmAt long last, the 300mm sold. Since we're paid off, I opted to flip it to the 17-55 since I've been short on having walkaround lens in that range. Love my primes but sometimes, you just need something you can slap on and go. I timed it *perfectly* to stop by too. As it turns out, Gary had gotten quite a few high-quality filters in trade and was trying to just get them back out again. Now I have a couple of graduated neutral density filters and then as I was about to go, he threw in a couple of intensifier filters on the house because he thought I'd have fun playing with them. The downside? I need a step-down adapter ring for a couple of the filters, but he'll make sure he has one on hand when the lens comes in. Waiting to be able to use them is going to be hard, but cheap B&W is not something I'd pass up on the basis of not being able to use them at this very minute.
The whole thing has me feeling inspired. It's going to be fun to play with the intensifier filters, I think.:)
