Dec. 1st, 2010 08:33 amBeen up since 5, since Pete is managing to get back on schedule for his early train. I won't be able to row today since Aaron's desk is supposed to be delivered and I have no idea *when* that will be. Instead, I'm undertaking a bit of reorganizing, kicked off by having to pack the tree away. I've managed to get some things cleared out of the kitchen that are never used and added them to the Lupus donation pile.
I was sort of stupid because I hauled a table up from the garage by myself. It wasn't the weight so much as it being big and awkward and I realized I'm actually now too small to attempt such things by myself. We're switching out the dining tables... we had a round pedestal table with a heavy stone top that Jon left behind and it was decided since it had uncomfortable chairs and wasn't the most stable thing in the world, that we would go to our farmhouse-style table after the holidays. With the tree being down, there was no need to wait. The problem with that table is that we have no chairs for it. I've remedied that and we should have chairs that match (close enough) on Friday. This should encourage us to eat at the table again.:)
I'm also going to do some baking today and practicing graham crackers. I got a new silicone rolling pin and I'm eager to see how that fares against the super sticky graham dough. I love the results of baking my own crackers, but the recipe is a bit of a pain, even with things well-floured. If I have time, I'll also do a batch of sugar cookies with the trial eggnog extract King Arthur Flour sent.
