This past weekend was one of those sorts that I cringe about. Not because of anything particularly bad, but because of *shopping* of all things. We don't do all of our grocery shopping in one place but instead go to Wegmans for most things, our local butcher for meat, Trader Joe's for fish (the only place that has Pacific salmon reasonably priced) and in the summer the farmer's market for produce. Most of the time, these trips are spread out but this past weekend was what I refer to as our grocery store confluence... we ran out of everything at once. Cat food too. This meant not only more running around than I really wanted, but also spending more than I'd like. We are now fairly well stocked though poorer for it. Now I just have to hope that some nearly 15 year old boy doesn't decimate the cupboards.

Saw some ugly behaviour on FB from people we went to school with. I realized as I tried to ignore reactionary statements and babbling about how we should help our own before reaching out to others in need that there is a reason we don't live there anymore and why I don't particularly align with family political beliefs.

As usual, I shall be putting the house back together after the weekend. I hit the ground running this morning and already have quite a bit done. I'm debating tossing at least one cat into the tub today as they are all rather grubby. As I'm looking around the house and going over things in my head, it looks like I can perhaps have a little time this afternoon to put into stitching if I keep a steady pace this morning and don't become distracted by anything shiny.
