Birthday Cake 2011
Yesterday was Pete's birthday and when I asked him what kind of cake he wanted, he said chocolate peanut butter. So what we have here is a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and topped with chocolate peanut butter ganache. dairy-free, of course and though it was more substitution than usual, it worked out *quite* well. I only took a single bite due to the sugar level.:)
I had the thought yesterday morning that 21 years ago, I baked my very first cake for his birthday. It was a boxed devil's food cake with frosting from a can. Things sure have changed in many ways since then!
